STRI Excel: Cincel de metal Catálogo de INAC: 9900 Tool-like object with domed end, possibly for punching (very possibly a tool, not necessarily metalworking) Weight: 3.2 g Length: 46.25mm Blunt end cross-section: 4.15mm x 2.25mm Tapered end cross-section at tip: 2.4mm x 2.2mm Blunt end, rectangular in profile.

Blunt end looks broken off, pointed end seems intact. Slightly bent shaft. Surface has mottled thin intermittent brown accretion, with a few areas of bright green-blue copper corrosion; some areas where corrosion crust is knocked off revealing more copper corrosion below. Not previously sampled.
Note: Housing Notes
Rebagged in polyethylene ziplock bag with Tyvek tag insert. The object was stabilized inside the bag in a purpose-built ethafoam cavity-mount.

rod/stock Note: Rod rectangular in section, blunt end (broken), pointed end intact. Pointed end - rounded across wider dimensions. On Shorter sides show slight bulging/compression from hammering on the wider sides, during formation of wedge shape (after the basic shaft had been established). Wedge is slightly more angled on one face than other.
Treatment: Conservation Performed
Surface cleaned/degreased with acetone on cotton swab, avoiding resin patch with acc.#
