In 2 fragments, crack between holes 3 and 4, to 5.5 o'clock on Side A. Strip of thick paper (old reddish file folder cover?), attached with adhesive, with residues around strip and on Side B. Numerous probably recent chatter marks (bright, small arc indents showing twisiting/beading?) on Side A, transferred to Side B. Wrinkles; two small tears at wrinkle intersections. Faint patchy reddish corrosion overall.

Remove old restoration, clean and readhere, with extra support as needed, using stable materials. Provide protective housing.

Tumba 16 Sitio Conte (?) Note: Doubtful attribution. Pectoral disk with Lothrop's field number 33-42-30/1082 is authentic (corroded, fragmented, attached to a piece of cardboard as part of the lifting process), corresponding also to description of condition in Lothrop's publications. The two disks Tumba 16 s/c-1 and s/c-2 are markedly better preserved and are likely not from this context.
Technique: Fabrication Method
hammered sheet Note: Gold sheet, hammered flat. No visible signs of hammering, both sides semi-shiny, and outer edge is smooth. Hard to determine front/back. Side A defined by MCI team as the one with beaded pattern proud of the surface (restoration); formation (hammering) flaws on Side B support this. Dimpling toward Side A is also consistent with other pectoral. Flaws are shear fractures (parallel to working surface) caused by working too long without annealing - these are visible on Side B at center and 2 o'clock, and on side A Small near center (visible at edge of strip). .
Treatment: Conservation Performed
Note: Surface cleaned/degreased with acetone on cotton swab - dirtier on Side B.
