Holmes, W.H., 1887 "The Use of Gold and Other Metals among the Ancient Inhabitants of Chiriqui, Isthmus of Darien," Bureau of Ethnology Bulletin 3. Pg.15, fig.4 is very similar example.
Note: Condition Review
Heavily corroded and fragmentary (PL arm missing). Covered in brown accretions and green corrosion. Interior appears mostly mineralized with a thick black layer under the gold surface and a coppery colored center in some cross sections. Object in three fragments, two of which appear to have been adhered in a past restoration. Object appears brittle and a large crack extends through torso just over proper left leg, revealing black interior under surface
Note: Follow-up Notes
The smallest fragment (9mm long) has extant gold surface and coppery/gold center (with black layer between) and may be good for ESEM analysis or metallography. However, considering extent of corrosion, it is likely that the remaining metal is not comparable with the original metal composition.
