Central America, Panama, Herrera Province, Parita District, Parita, Península de Azuero
Note: Research Notes
(transferred to MCI for analysis July 2009). Two small pieces of resin material from box placed in vial
Note: Condition Review
There appears to be plaster on the interior of the gold sheathing at the back two legs- a modern repair most likely done by the owner after excavation. The copal is a bit degraded but still maintains the general form and some transparency.
Note: Follow-up Notes
Special Sample taken. A few specks of copal are present in bottom of container. Sampled: Two small pieces of the orange resin material were taken from bottom of box and placed in a labeled vial
