Note: Object Description
Open back cast bird pendant with hemispherical body, two projecting feet at top, ears and bead eyes at side of head and open hooked beak. The edges of the wings are decorated with a design of two rows of square blocks in low relief. There is a single suspension loop in the neck at the back.

Excellent condition. No broken pieces, break edges, cracks, or corrosion. There are micro scratches on the surface which may be from polishing, usewear, or cleaning. White residue in the crevices and pits is visible under magnification.

Note: Shiny gold at surface, but more coppery gold in crevices, lines, and in open back. There is a silvery area on the back of the PL wing.

Gold Alloy Note: No copper corrosion visible but crevices and interior of back appear more coppery in color. There is one more coppery colored surface area on the back of the tail on the far PR side. There is also a silvery area on back top of the PL wing where there is also some visible dendritic structure from preferential corrosion
Technique: Fabrication Method
Cast- Open Back Hammered-Sheet Note: Interior of back appears pitted and porous. There is some surface porosity and pits on the front and back surfaces as well. The wings and tail, however, also appear to have numerous facets to them under raking light, likely from hammering. The edges of the tail, just under the body also have sequential bulges that may be indicative of hammering
