Metal is stable, but broken into two pieces without loss. Some copper corrosion evident. The ends at the breaks are very granular and covered with adhesive.
Note: Housing Notes
Rebagged in polyethylene ziplock bag with Tyvek tag insert.
Note: Follow-up Notes
Remove adhesive residues. Ring could be reassembled, but access to areas for sampling would be impeded.

Technique: Fabrication Method
Note: Solid wire/rod, shaped. Roundish in cross-section, with long stretches that have flattish planes and somewhat less rounded edge along length of wire may indicate where removed from larger piece of metal., perhaps cut sheet. Fair amount of porosity in the metal, maybe the result of surface enriching, but not what you would see in a cast piece. Wordhardened. After break edges cleaned, metal cross-section shows some porosity, uniform color throughout (including surface). (Cut from sheet, hammered and annnealed, rolling and hammering lengthwise along length of piece, or laid between sheets. Or can be annealed, then held/clamped at each end and then yanked.
Treatment: Conservation Performed
Note: Adhesive residues removed with acetone on cotton swabs and mechanically.
Measurements:
Measurement Note: Weight: 0.9 g Diameter: 1.3-1.4 mm of wire/rod, tapering at ends to 1.15 mm. Circumference: 91 mm (with 2 pieces aligned). Cross-section: generally round.
