Note: Object Description
Open back cast bird pendant with hooked open beak with snake in mouth, ball in ring eyes, spiral earrlings, and three plumes/feathers on head. There is a single suspension loop at back of neck and very small (unusually small) body with two projecting feet at the center. The wings and tail are flat and thin.
Note: Condition Review
Very good condition except that all of the flat surfaces are very scratched, perhaps from polishing or cleaning. The central plume on the head was either miscast or broken off. May be coated in clear coating.
Note: Analysis Recommendations
Suspicious since there is no corrosion and the body is so small at the back. X radiography may help determine whether there was any hammering of the flat areas

Cast- Open Back Note: Some casting flaws (snake in mouth looks only half complete) and there are 2 projections from the feet that could be casting artifact. Back is pitted and the interior of the body and head are especially porous and pitted. Undulating edge at wings (hammering?)
Technique: Finishing
Note: Scratches Core/Investment. No break edges to help determine surface enrichment, but it is likely somewhat enriched. The front is shiny and appears polished and there is extensive scratching
