Open back cast pendant of felid with curled snout and long tail that curls slightly at the end. The surface is enriched, likely by depletion gilding as it appears shiny and gold. The base metal is a Cu alloy and has been severely corroded

Gold plated figurine ornaments from Prov. of Veraguas, Panama, collected y Sr. Juan Gratacos, Panama, and from him purchased (Order no.10987) through Dr.J.A Mason. No data on exact site or conditions of finding. All cast in molds and thinly plated

Accession records specify "no info on site." Juan Gratacos, however, did send Lothrop site info on objects at Peabody from Veraguas.

Severe corrosion of base metal. Patches of green corrosion are present on the surface and areas of loss in the surface reveal black corrosion underneath. The pendant is fragmentary. The body is missing the front and back PR feet and part of the PR ear

highly mineralized so would provide little information on metal structure (except gold layer thickness). The two small fragments have a little gold remaining in patches.
