Note: Object Description
Cast finger ring with three cast frogs along one edge. Open ring. Braided cast wire decoration along edges. Possible ancient repair along break (Solder?). Does not have any extra blobs/pieces on interior, which all of the other rings have.. which may be from casting. Could be reason for breakage? Also, the wire decoration is braided rather than twisted as most of the other rings have. Weighs 6.9g

Note: Research Notes
Direct reference to item in correspondence from Dade to Dockstader. Dade discusses ancient repair with white metal on interior and exterior to ring that weighs about 7g. and has 4 small frogs (This is incorrect)
Note: Condition Review
There are two breaks that have been repaired/consolidated with clear adhesive along the longer break and an adhesive that has yellowed along the smaller break. There is the possibility that another break was repaired before deposition with white metal and a section of braided wire on the end was also reattached with the same solder. There is severe interdendritic corrosion on the surface as there are dendrites visible throughout.
Note: Follow-up Notes
Followup Special. VERY INTERESTING! Definitely look at in ESEM. Determine what the "solder" or repair material is and also the different colored dendrites. Dade refers to this ring in his correspondence saying that the repair is ancient but white metal is usually not used in panama. Dendritic structures on surface of ring may extend under solder (corrosion before repair?). Would application of solder destroy dendritic structure in adjoining metal? There is also corrosion around the repair.. can analyze that (XRD?).. indicates use of flux? modern repair? Or is it even metal. Could be metallic adhesive? solvent test? Silver composition will also be good to examine from XRF results.

Condition: Corrosion
Note: Green-Surface Interdendritic. There is light green corrosion around the "white metal" of the repaired area. There is extreme interdendritic corrosion across the surface as gold colored dendrites are visible with copper colored metal underneath
Condition: Coloration
Note: Coppery Gold Mixed. Very interesting variation in color between gold colored dendrites some silver colored dendrites, and coppery color underneath
Condition: Pseudomorphs
Note: None
Materials:
Gold Alloy Note: Gold-copper alloy with Ag (quantity?)
Technique: Fabrication Method
Cast- Solid Note: Dendrites visible on surface of all areas including braided wire.
Technique: Joinery
Note: All in cast except for repairs that may be white metal solder
Technique: Finishing
Note: Surface Enrichment. Coppery color underneath gold dendrites
