Note: Object Description
There are two types of beads in this necklace. 15 large sheathing beads resembling teeth and a large number of small, thin ring beads. The small ring beads are very thin and most have an incised line around the edge of each opening. No substrate present. The larger teeth beads are also hollow with an opening at the top and a small opening in most cases at the tip. There are two punch holes punched from exterior to interior to allow the beads to be strung.

" The Dade collection specimens, at the Museum of the American Indian, listed from the Finca Calderon undoubtedly come from this site [He-4, El Hatillo] as well as many of those listed from Parita. Mr.Philip L Dade of the SOciety recently excavated a number of graves at the site (personal communication from Dr.S.K.Lothrop)..."

There are brown accretions on the exterior of some of the tooth beads and on all of the interiors. Some of the beads, particularly the small beads have been warped and bent out of shape.

Gold Alloy Not present Organic Composite Note: Gold and copper alloy. Substrates are missing/not present. A small amount of material remains in two of the teeth beads, which may be related to the original substrate

Hammered-Sheathing Note: The small beads have planishing marks on their surface and the tooth beads seem to have striations along their lengths, as if burnished onto something in that direction.
