Evidence of cracking on the nose probably the result of forming in the wax. Compact green corrosion is in localized areas on the surface of the gold. There is some color change on the surface with some areas brighter yellow in appearance. Broken edges on the hind feet have compact black corrosion. PR front loop is broken and missing.

Note: There is evidence of hammering marks on the feet.

Technique: Fabrication Method

cast Note: Small cast frog, surface enriched to appear yellow in color, possibly made from sheet wax over a mold, with wax balls for eyes. An engraved line is visible across the center of the eyes. The two front feet have loops incorporated into the casting. The feet have been hammered and are broad and flattened.

Treatment: Conservation Performed

Note: Surface cleaned/degreased with acetone on cotton swab, avoiding resin patch with acc.#
