Cast Cu-Au alloy bell with bird effigy standing on top and clapper still present inside. A number of random blobs on the exterior of the bell body may be casting flaws

Gold plated figurine ornaments from Prov. of Veraguas, Panama, collected y Sr. Juan Gratacos, Panama, and from him purchased (Order no.10987) through Dr.J.A Mason. No data on exact site or conditions of finding. All cast in molds and thinly plated

Accession records specify "no info on site." Juan Gratacos, however, did send Lothrop site info on objects at Peabody from Veraguas.

The gold surface is flaking off in areas revealing pockets of green corrosion in the surface of the alloy underneath. The base alloy is very porous where the gold layer has flaked off.
