Individual records for Precolumbian gold- and copper- alloy artifacts excavated at the site of Isla Pedro González, Pearl Islands {PAPG], Panama, overseen by project advisors Dr. Richard Cooke,research archaeologist at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute [STRI] and Dr. Juan Guillermo Martín Rincón, chief archaeologist from Panamá Viejo, both in Panama City, Panama. Information recorded for each object includes available details about excavation context, manufacturing technique, condition, and conservation actions, as well as analytical procedures carried out to elucidate technological aspects, including metal composition. Associated resources include photographs for general documentation as well as of analytical procedures. Technical investigation was carried out during the 2009 research phase, by the conservation/research team from the Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute [MCI], in the El Caño laboratory at STRI's CTPA facility.
