12/12/2008. Largest of the gold frogs, marked R with a black star. Open back cast frog pendant with 4-wire double tongue ending in double spirals and connected with cast wire filets to the head. Ball in ring eyes and V shaped wire lip. The body is long and thin and the thin legs protrude out sharply in a diagonal from the body and is a doubled back cast wire tube. The feet also have a small bump above them, but are otherwise the typical thin, flat frog feet (0.038"-0.041"). 28.4g

Cast- Open Back Note: The reverse/interior has typical porosity and pitting from casting and there are casting flaws and blips all over, particularly at the end of the proper left leg and on the suspension loops. The cracks in the edges of the feet could be from stresses developed from casting as there is no evidence of hammer marks or work hardening

Note: Highly polished on obverse and raised areas. Some edges appear filed as they are angular. The edges of the feet, for instance, are angular and there are regular striations.
