excellent; no evidence of corrosion or surface loss. There is some adhesive residue in the proper left eye socket and there is black discoloration in both eyes. There are isolated patches of soil-like accretions in deep recesses.

Note: There are file marks across the back of the spine, on the top of the head and on the rump. These marks were made in the metal post-casting. Two spots at the back of the head and behind the ears have been filed and polished so that they do not intrude into the loop at the head. The polishing alters the color slightly and makes the area slightly less red. Direction of file marks are predominantly in the direction of 1 o'clock to 7 o'clock.

Technique: Fabrication Method

cast Note: Solid cast object, fabricated from wax wires that are approx. 1.5 mm in diameter. The anatomical features are highlighted with manipulated wires and beads of wax. A loop fabricated in the wax is attached to the top of the back of the head and the base of the neck. It is complete and the opening in the loop is 2.5 mm at its widest point.

Technique: Joinery

Note: Joinery was completed all in the wax.

Treatment: Conservation Performed

Surface cleaned/degreased with acetone on cotton swab
