Delamination btn gold layer and substrate metal, predominantly in edges, head, tail. Substrate metal surface where exposed: black compact, with purplish sulfide corrosion film. Patchy green corrosion is visible on gold surface especially recto.

cast Note: Cast, lost wax. Thickness in body 1.4-2.0 mm. Symmetry and concave interior suggest wax sheet formed over carved (reusable?) mold. Details present in wax include: eyes and ears decorated with wax wires; wax wire loops on underside of 2 front feet (complete), and extra wax layer with lateral decoration on legs.

Treatment: Conservation Performed

Note: Surface cleaned/degreased with ethanol on cotton swab, avoiding resin patch with acc.#
